I do love enthusiasm and excitement for things!!! Sometimes I get all riled up, kinda like now, with no idea as to why I'm so excitable but happy just to be excited!
I've been feeling all keyed up and happy about today since yesterday afternoon, and I still have no clue why? I'm not going anywhere special, not doing anything wow and not sacrificing anyone on the Alter of the Spaghetti God (That's Tuesdays). So why the hype? I don't work *has moment of painful silence* so it's not like Friday being the golden gate to the weekend is particularly Holy Cheese!
Maybe there's some unknown goodie coming that I can only sense with my mind?!
Or maybe not hey...
But don't you love being excited about things? Like when you're looking forward to an event, say you have a birthday party, or concert or that much anticipated circumcision! Yay!
I see most events as being part of a three phase action plan!
First Phase - the tastiest phase, the build up! The 'ooooooh-la-la' feelings of anticipation and of day dreaming and wonder and pondering and shivers of delight at what could happen! I often find this is the best part of the whole enchilada! My mind can come up with the most entertaining thoughts!
Second Phase - The actual event! Definitely a lot of fun but sadly, sometimes it can fall flat. People make other plans, you don't get what you want, Mad Uncle Freddy pees in the soda fountain again... you know how it goes. That's why phase 1 is so important! If you get to live through days of joyful excitement then having just one, even if it's D-day, fall flat is not as painful. Well that's how it works this side. And of course, if the event itself is Wow, then bonus dude, like totally!!
Third Phase - The remembering and the telling of the event to your family, friends and posse! This is the most interesting part because it's fascinating to see how two people experiencing the same event at the same time, can have two utterly different, even opposing, views on it! Also interesting to see how people's memory of things changes as time does. Embarrassing moments become funny, sweet moments become bitter, or the part where you acted like a total ass gets conveniently "forgotten".
Or of course you get days like today when you just feel all over tingly good for no particular reason. Three phases be buggered.
but that's okay.
I'm good with that too!

Monday 31 January 2011 - your mission should you chose to accept it
What is the purpose of your life?
Yes I know, it's a heavy, pound-cake topic for a light and frothy Monday morning but deep philosophical questions wait for no man!
See I was just wondering how many people out there feel they know what they're life is for, or why they could / should / would be existing on this earth (in 50 words or less).
Some folk could see their lives in terms of religious purpose, some will just snort and say, "I exist, so, like, whatever man!", others will go into a wild panic when you ask them and start mentally circling themselves with questions on life, love and liberty until they look like a small dog chasing it's own tail and losing badly.
I was wondering if each and every one of us has a purpose or if there's a few with a purpose and the rest of us are just devastatingly gorgeous window dressing? I know a lot of solipsistic people who are busy nodding joyfully at this sentence, thinking how wise I am for something that doesn't exist.
As for me? I've always suspected my purpose is largely to be a side-kick. Provide laughs, make people think, but never be the one who get's the awards or targeted by insane, stalker snipers.
I'm not here to save people, become president, bake apple pies or lead us all into a new age of spiritual enlightenment.Though I am terribly good at reading maps, should any of the chosen one's reading this decide they're still looking for a wing man! (CV to follow).
What's your purpose do you think? And what are you doing to make it a reality? And are you going to eat that last banana, cause if not...
