Isn't it strange how we're attracted to certain people, repelled or indifferent to others? How this one loves blonde hair, that one loves curvy, this one loves mean and brutish, this one loves silly and vapid.
What in the world makes us choose x and not y?
I mean I've tried it. Tried to love someone who wasn't "to my tastes" and it just didn't work! And they weren't evil, weren't ugly, mean or dastardly! They just weren't it. And it drove me utterly mad before I finally accepted that like it or not I have "a type". And here I thought I was so easy going and open-minded to the world. Seems some areas are restricted areas all the same.
Is it a breeding instinct? Or conditioning? Or I don't know, the fact I ate too many yellow jelly beans as a kid?

Why is it that people tend to type-cast you as a certain personality type and, should you show signs of doing something not expected of you, they all decide you are phony or pretentious or something else negative and grouchy sounding?
Lets use me as an example, lab rat Jo!
I like being happy go lucky and easy going. I like seeing the bright side of life. I love to laugh and meet new people and make them laugh! It's damn nifty.
But I can have a temper to sometimes. I can be stubborn, I can be mean. I can be sly and I can be woefully naive. I can hurt people and I can be hurt by people.
I can be a total ass at times!
But should that destroy all the good things that are done? Make them worthless because today was not a peachy keen day? Humans are complex, faceted little creatures. We are all a mix of good and bad. It's something people sometimes find hard to accept.
And if we want people to see that we're human and make mistakes then we sure as hell better be willing to understand that they do the same!
(Which can be very annoying because we do tend to see ourselves as automatic good guys while everyone else is on trial.)
Anyway my ramblings are basically to say. Why not try see the innocence in other people? Give them the benefit of the doubt? Maybe they're just having a bad day today the way you had one yesterday? Maybe they're really not out to get you?
Just a thought.

* What I think it means - Well I know death isn't literally someone pegging over. But I suspect it'st appropriate for a sunday. With the coming of monday and the death of all our hopes and dreams. (Me? Melodramatic? Never!)
* What it really means - The end of one chapter of life, and the beginning of another. Rebirth and new beginnings!
* How it could be influencing me - What a totally awesome card to go with what I wrote! New beginnings, how fantastic! What are yours going to be?

I love waking up early in the mornings! I always feel that the best of the day is often found in those wee morn hours, when the world is still quiet and you don't have the urge to murder someone till at least 7am.
The "downside" though is that this makes me fall asleep very early each night and going to bed at 9pm, like a good little girl, is a constant in my repertoire.
I just don't find nights as interesting.
For starters all the shops are closed. < - - oh my goodness!
And not being a party animal, I find the night life not to my taste. I mean sure, "Play that funky music white boy" just maybe not till 2am!
Mornings though, with that fresh air and a whole day full of potential... now that's what I'm talking about!
TAROT CARD OF THE DAY - The devil Reversed
* What I think it means - Well the devil don't strike me as a particularly fun bloke to have around but since he's upside down, I'm going to take it as a one up for the good guys!
* What it actually means - There is a danger nearby or a bad person to be weary of
* How this could influence the day - Oh, is my ex in town then? :P

What do you define as attractive?
See I was just wondering because a facebook friend splattered a few pics of Angelina Jolie up recently and I've never found her particularly appealing, or her hence-male Brad Pitt. I can see they have good skin, good bodies and blah blah but they look to me just like any other good looking couple. Pretty, but like a statue is pretty or a dog with good fur and a lot of inbreeding. But I'd feel out of my skin odd to call either attractive.
To me attractive people have a lively mind and personality. And they SMILE! when I see someone smile with genuine warmth and joy, ohmigod, are they ravishing! And if that smile is because of me... eeek *melts*
So what if you're older then god, too young to vote (though if you're under 18 we can just be best buddies), too little head hair, too much back hair, wonky teeth, few teeth or a fine set of dentures?
We're all different and few of us are perfect. < - and those who are, are usually very dull, self righteous bastards. No. thank. You.
So my advice, don't go around frowning too much, you never know who's busy falling in love with your smile! ^_^

* What I think it means - Well there is an owl hovering over a cup with a snake entwined around it so I'm thinking maybe it means that wisdom is better then sneakiness? Or maybe the bird just wants a place to poop?

* How it might be influencing me - Well it is a Friday and I'm feeling most jubilant already! And a new love affair? Why not? ^_-

I was wondering. Why do they say "You get more flies with honey then with vinegar?"
I mean sure honey is sweeter and stickier, but I find it usually just attracts ants.
(Nothing much seems to like vinegar, it is the pariah of condiments)
what I find really attracts flies is rotting meat. Then the buggers swarm.
So that makes me think, if this is a social commentary, then are people more attracted to the gruesome and macabre then the sweet and innocent? Looking in the newspapers sometimes I think so.
And if it's not a social commentary then two questions:-
1. Why am I the first to see this inconsistency?
2. Who wants flies anyway? What the heck can you use them for?

* What I think it means - Gosh second royal card in two days! As to what it means... Well it looks like an awfully snobby woman, so maybe someone who's not interested in attracting flies or entomology in general?
* What it actually means - A beautiful woman who has grace and influence, has interests in charity but can be somewhat bossy.
* How it might relate to my day - I still think it's some busy britches who'd look down on my impressive putrid meat theory...

I was ambling about on my morning walk as usual, dodging traffic, spooking small birds and enjoying the fresh, mostly, morning air, when I happened to walk up to a crimson car that had two big, black blokes sitting in front seats.
Now each guy must have weighed what, 80kg's and they didn't look like the sort who had tea parties involving nervous attacks when you forget to use a serviette, so imagine my surprise then that, as I was walking around the car, they turned, gave me a look, and proceeded to lock all the car doors!
It was as though they knew, somewhere deep down, this small, 50kg, white woman wanted to race up to their doors, latch on and start wailing and screaming, "LET ME IN! LET ME IN!!"
I didn't know if I should be offended or amused. (I chose to be amused cause the benefits were just so much more appealing).
Isn't it funny though? What a strange world we live in?

* What I think it means - Watch out for winos?
* What it really means - An ambitious, responsible person,who may also be boring, and uncommunicative. Also a father figure.
* How this might relate to me - Well maybe those guys just felt they'd not be stimulating enough conversation and locked their doors in embarrassment? Or maybe they were just so filled with love they had to lock themselves inside lest they leap out and give me one hell of a cuddle? It could happen.
