Look ok, it's Monday.
That sentence, besides being the most necessary observation I've ever made, is, alone, enough to put the fear of small gods into you! But, but but! That doesn't mean it's the end of the world! You might seriously wish it was the end of the world but nope, it's not even close! (Though apparently the end of the world has happened a few times already, precognated by old Americans with their trusty, food stained bibles and psychic dog named Spock...)
The best part of a Monday though, once you get into the full swing of things and have stopped whimpering and cringing, is that they don't last! Though they might FEEL like an eternity of cruelty and spikes driven under your soul's light pink fingernails, it does eventually come to a close! And then, at the end of the day you're like, Ah Monday, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! (Or you're being carted off by paramedics, barely conscious, but let's ignore that possiblity...)
And the glorious thing is that once you've pulled this Monday down off it's high horse and beaten it soundly with a salami, you know there won't be another Monday showing it's face again for 6 WHOLE DAYS!!! HAHAHA!! Victory never tasted so good! (A bit like cinnamon sugar only more satisfying! *Licks lips*)
So puff out your chest, grab a large meat product and go out and face the day with dignity!!!
(Or slide along the edges and hope it doesn't notice you, like I'm doing!)

Sunday 19 June 2011 - interruptus
Oh dear, I have been lax with my thought of the day recently haven't I? And I suspect the only reason I'm writing this is to buy some more time until tomorrow! Oh Jo, what a low blow! But you know, (Cor, nifty rhyming thing there), you do just sometimes get a little 'Meh' towards certain things. You feel the need to do something, anything that isn't THAT thing! Teach me to macrame or to Rumba but blog, not today, not today!
I'd open my blog and look at it, absorb its blank-i-ty blankness, and then close it with just a small twinge of guilt. (Somewhere between my shoulder blades, just where it's hard to rub!)
Now if I was being paid to do this, then hell yeah, I'd be here bright and chipper and bushy legged, ready and rearing to write! But I'm not, so watch me swan off into the sunset with a big ol' smile plastered to my visage!
But don't worry, this is me, I can't ever keep quiet for long! (And even then, once I work the duct tape off, I'm good to go!) So watch this space!!!
Have a great, carefree day
She who's unpaid work ethic may need a shot to the rear (Not my rear hey, the work ethics one! Just want to clear that bit up...)

Wednesday 15 June 2011 - Mathamoronical
Yes okay I don't like maths.
Never have, it's over intricate, denies creativity and always gives you the one answer you didn't want, namely the wrong one!
In IQ tests I just skip the maths section. I have enough brains to make it up in the other areas and I worry that if I ever did the maths part and they thought I was a genius, it could happen, then they'd expect me to do even more!!!
Besides I could never see the pattern when they asked, "1, 23,45,67,89 what is the next number?" I don't know, I don't care! You were doing the pattern you should know it, why do I have to tell you?
As a kid I didn't have to much issues with it. Add, subtract and multiply, it was all good. Then came the horrors of long division! Oh my word, what the hell? Suddenly I began to see calculators in a whole new light! I was able to bluff my way through a lot of division, until they added fractions and decimal points, that was when the good ship JJ Jovvi was blown clear out the water once and for all, KERBOOM!!!
See Algebra, well that wasn't too bad. They tell you to find x and y and you're like, what can I just circle the x and write, "Here it is" and hope for a pass mark? but see they give you 80 different formulas and somehow you're supposed to know which goes with which and when to use what were! I can't even say that sentence 10 times fast! *glare*
And Trigonometry?! What the hell? I don't care Cos of Tan or CoTan-gerine or whatever! Good lordy, if ever there was one branch of mathematical redundancy I didn't need this was it with a hat on!
I used to just cancel everything out and guess the answer to be 1 or 0, which it almost always was. (I still only ended up with marks like 1/10 because apparently random, lucky guess work is not considered a vaild way to do it. Ha! They obviously have never been to a real science lab before...)
Geometry and I got on well for a long time. Trying to find angles and memorizing theories and what not was right up my dark, dark alley! Problem is they can never leave well enough alone! Noooo, then they had to bring in fractions again (What is it with fractions? Why are they so popular that they get all the party invites?!), and then they brought finding the Area into it and some physics just to sour the whole cream pie! I was most disillusioned!!
Really by the time I was in Std 8 (10th grade), I was well and truly sick of it and ended up doing math on Standard grade rather then Higher grade. (I'll admit this wasn't a very bright move but whenever the teacher said, "Standard Grade doesn't have to learn this part" I did feel a warm and snuggly glow in the pit of my racing heart!)
I know women can do math every bit as much as men can, yadda yadda, rah-rah go feminism etc. Just as long as it's other woman who do it, then I'm all good with that!
Ok so I'm not sure what the point of my rant here about the horrors of Math is? Probably just because it felt nice to diss it. Math is useful, (except Trig) it pops up everywhere and helps you know the velocity at which two trains leaving different stations are going. But for now I will rely on my calculator for the more intricate doodly bits!
No kid, you can't use my calculator, go back to school, what are we paying your fees for?!

Tuesday 14 June 2011 - carpe d'everything!!
So do things now dammit!!! Don't be half-hearted with your life! Don't go around saying how you WILL be a nicer person, how you WILL show someone you love them, how you WILL get more fun out of your life, some day, one day!! When do some day, one day ever come? Why isn't today a good enough day to start?
Planning to do something is good but doing it? Oh my word! It's so much better!! And yes, we cant be perfect and we have our hang ups and our issues but we should at least try make ourselves feel as contented as we can! It's practically our civil duty!! (And the reason I'm having an extra banana for breakfast!)
Try putting your all into just today! Come at it with a positive mindset! Enjoy it the best you can! Sure, bad things won't go away just cause you're positive and there are days you'll be down and depressed but if you try make the best of everything, those days will be a lot less then they are now! Don't give into melancholy and blahness! Don't let one set back ruin your whole day! (So I'm out of bananas, bugger, I'll get more and enjoy them twice as much later! *thumps chest!*)
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
Cause see, if you make TODAY the best day you possibly can, then before you know it, you have a whole string of memories behind you of good days and a future that suddenly doesn't look so bleak!!
Please think about that!!!
*Bows humbly*

Tuesday 14 June 2011 - movng on
It's strange how a gap is created when someone you love or care about has died. It's like they were always there and then they weren't and you're almost expected to pave over the hole and continue on with a whistle and a smile.
The thing that gets me most though is wondering what has happened to them. We all think about, and occasionally dwell on, what happens to us after death, but it's a bit more hard hitting when someone we knew has passed on and we have to wrap our minds around the fact that they're gone. For good. Forever and ever, amen. Whether they went to a heaven, a hell, or a limbo party, the fact is that they are, in our world, extinct. There will be no more of that person for the rest of your life. Fact.
And I think losing someone also brings out our selfish side. Oh not in a bad, evil, mine, mine, mine, kind of way! It's that when someone dies one of our first thoughts is, "What am I going to do without them?" We feel OUR loss at their not being around anymore. WE don't get to have them in our lives, cheering it up just that little bit more. It's a bittersweet selfishness that we couldn't hope to control. It shows the impact they made.
So my thinking is today, even if it's just for today, think about everyone in your life, for better or worse, and feel thankful that they are there. Because you never know what can happen between something as simple as one breath and the next. You can never expect the unexpected (Man that's always such lame advice), but you can at least appreciate the things you have right at this moment and the beautiful people you share them with!

Monday 13 June 2011 - Monday froth
I was thinking about what wise, wise words I could put here. Something deep and meaningful or dazzling and profound, to get Monday off to a good start!
BUT!!!
I have new anime freshly downloaded!!! Eeeek, I know, how cool is that?! And I can use this time muuuuuuuuch more productively watching it and soaking up all the feel good vibes it engenders! My my! Tell me that's not a muuuuuuuuuch better way to spend a Monday then lost in thought?
I know hey, clever me!!
So saying, make the most of your Monday today! It might not be the most loved day of the week but once or twice it can surprise you in that it DOESN'T rip apart your hopes and dreams and laugh at you from behind the bushes!
GO MONDAY!!!!*
*ideally far away....
:P
ENJOY!!!

Saturday 11 June 2011 - SQUEEZE
A hug is one of the few things you can do where you receive every bit as much as you give. A hug costs nothing but means everything!
