Tuesday 28 December 2010

I miss gardening. Mind I was never super brilliant at it, but I was enthusiastic and if weeds had to go then I was more then willing to pull them all out, and half the other plants as well. It was very satisfying. (Well to me, other people could get a bit crabby, I blame societies abuse of medication...)

I like the way moist soil feels in my hands. And the way it smells, which is usually very good unless you've hit something unsavory, in which case, you're doing it wrong! Or if I hit a Parktown Prawn, I can go from sitting to hovering 6 feet above the ground, in under 2 seconds flat, when one of those puppies rears it's ugly malformed head! Ye gods man, what was our creator thinking when he made those things?!

I like growing my own veggies, this is a lot of fun. Corn, tomatoes, spinach... yum yum yum. (I tried squashes - but I never ate them, so icky, and cabbages - but they got all sick and white and fluffy and resembled demented, deformed, zombie kitties, truly, every time I looked at them I got the heebie-geebies!)

There is something really very satisfying in watching your work bloom and grow. And it is a nice restful form of exercise to boot! I think I must start a tiny garden here, there is a wee bit of open soil by the 'was-once-a-swimming-pool-but-now-just-a-harbinger-of-frog-death-and-algae', wonder if I can get that up and sprouting?

Wish me luck!!

TAROT CARD OF THE DAY - 4 of Pentacles

* What I think it means - A guy surrounded by a heck of a lot of what could be either beige rocks or an alarming amount of potatoes.

* What it really means - Do not overspend. someone is greedy with money.

* It's influence - Not much hey, I don't have anything to overspend and who isn't greedy with money? (Well okay maybe not Tibetan monks but I hear they can really hoard the rice when there's wind up their sails!)
