Thursday 09 December 2010

I suspect I like doing laundry. It was some what unexpected. Love would be too strong a word, I'm not the sort to go waltzing about with the Omo washing powder while singing softly to it. (...and anyway if I did I wouldn't say. But I don't!)

There is a sort of thrill in taking dirty laundry out to the machine, and with a touch of a few buttons, some soap and a kick, watching it twirling round and round and transforming into something a bit more nasally palatable.

I'll admit hanging laundry is not always so fun, the sun can get pretty beastly and ravange your good senses after a few minutes. I've come back inside more then once, wobbly legged and bopping into tables while giggling.
To combat this I have become a rogue card and tend not to use pegs when hanging my stuff! I know what you're thinking, what a wild thing she is! How on the edge! What can I say, I'm crazy that way.

The clean laundry, all warm and dry, is the real highlight. It always feels like Christmas as you see the clothing all good and ready and you remember ooooh, I wore that last week and it was so comfy! I'll wear it tomorrow!! (As long as it's not a Wednesday and you're looking at your favorite nurses outfit - bosses have terrible issues with good taste...)

It really is very satisfying!I say this cause I know people well enough to know that 9/10 who read this will snort and hand their washing over to Mumu the maid without a second thought!

Mumu will understand though.

TAROT CARD OF THE DAY - 2 of cups

* What I think it means - The disembodied entwined hands tell me it's either a love-love card or has something to do with dismemberment. Sort of wish it was the latter, even though it stains more.

* What it really means - Wonderful relationship of mind and body, reconciliation, engagement, marriage or pregnancy.

* It's influence - Cor blimey, obviously I'm doing my washing the wrong way...!

  1. Washing is great. Ironing though, that's another story.
