Oh you have to admit, a public holiday is a glorious thing indeed!! Because of the one on Monday this week seems to be flying by at a much more digestible level then usual! I am most pleased!! *claps enthusiastically!*
Mind I never know what the public holidays are. What's worse is I have a sneaking suspicion I do get told once or twice or twelve times. But usually they don't have much to do with me. Even on Woman's Day. It's not like I get a badge or asked to prepare a speech on the day. (I could live without the badge but oh, wouldn't it be glorious to give a speech?!)
Freedom Day. Youth Day. Smurf Day. All that ever happens is the public holiday comes, some politician or other makes an inane speech (again see, mine would have been memorable!), and everyone pretty much sleeps in late, visits friends and finally gets to buy that cute little top they've had their eye on since Sunday.
Still I'm not complaining. There is something very satisfying about staying home on a work day, even when you don't work and pretty much it means an ordinary day but with the shops all closing early, really its more the principle of the thing!
And April, oh my, is positively packed with public holidays! Aren't we going to be entertained? Hazzah!!!
