Isn't it funny how we all expect to be happy and for things to go smoothly and calmly and ideally to a nice, foot-tapping, hawaiian tune? But should something horrible or sad or unexplained happen to rock our kayak and suddenly life is unfair, cruel and unkind?
We so see happiness as our right that we forget that sadness is just as valid an emotion and just as much allowed to exist and influence us.
All emotions, good, bad or otherwise are still valid emotions.
(Even if some have to be controlled by pills and restraints...)
People are allowed to be sad, feel sorry for themselves or write ghastly poetry about their deep seated feelings towards Uncle Lennie.
So my thought here is that we should appreciate when we have happiness and treasure it, knowing that it can be fleeting and that life could toss pretty much anything at us at any time. Living in the now and appreciating our happiness NOW, that's pretty much all we can do!
Besides a little gratitude never hurt anyone. (At least not like say, a chainsaw...)
So what do you have to be grateful for today?
Actually I'm just as guilty here! I like happy and it erks my gerkin when other, "lesser" emotions feel they have to make themselves know! Shoo! Go away already!!
